2) One of my least successful art pieces is the perspective drawing. For this project I chose to make mine look like a hand on a game board. I feel like I could've done so much better if I tried harder. This is one of the few that I regret not trying on. For this project we had to make a drawing and make it in perspective. In this art I used colored pencil. The reasons why I feel like this could be better is because it looks so sloppy. I mean the idea was a good one, but the actual drawing turned out bad. I feel like if I did the right shading in the proper places then it would look like the hand was actually on the bored. Another reason why I think this one wasn't good was because not all of the points were going in the same direction and that's basically the idea of perspective I think. If I could do anything differently I would probably just take my time and shade it more and actually give it the perspective effect. I would also make sure i understand the concept of perspective and practice more before i start my actual project.
3) For the two pieces of art I chose to do my recent mixed media project and my James Rosenquist mimic artwork. I chose these because there both collages that I've made. In the beginning of art we had a mimic artist project and since I had James Rosenquist I decided to make a collage out of political themes. It turned out so bad and had to be my absolute worst so I had to start over. After that I just cut out pieces of Rosenquist's work and glues them on a canvas. it's not my best but certainly not my worst. For my improvement piece I chose the mixed media piece. For that piece I tried to make a vintage theme and glued different items and magazine pieces to it. This shoes that I've improved a ton because I used different techniques and different materials to give it the collage effect. For the Rosenquist collage I just used pictures but for the Mixed media I used tons of different things. My artistic vision was also very different for each piece. and because of this I feel like that's what made it turn out either really good or really bad. Although the subject matter was way different for each piece I still feel like I could've made the Rosenquist one turn out really good if I just thought more creatively. Over all i think that this shows a great change for the beginning of the year to now because it shows how I've gotten at least a little bit more creative.
4)I feel like the two most beneficial mini projects were the Dum-Dum's and the Lego's. I feel like these two helped me the most because they both helped me understand the reason for blending colors together. Like they both helped me learn how to blend properly and show the right type of technique while shading and tinting when I'm using colored pencil. I feel like my Lego's project and Dum Dum turned out good because i was learning how to make them look realistic. Both of these projects actually helped me with perspective too because for the Dum Dum I had to make it seem like it actually on the wrapping paper. And for the Lego's I had to make it seem like The Lego was coming towards me. So this project actually helped with lots of things. Even though these were the most benifical for me i still had a little bit of problems. I didn't know how to make the appropriate light source for each of these projects, and it was hard adding different values. But I feel like the instructions that were given was enough to ensure me success because I was learning how to do different art techniques will working on these two projects.
5) My favorite medium to use is colored pencil because like I said before, it helps with blending and shading. I also felt like it was the easiest to deal with, like oil pastels are too messy, paint is too annoying to work with, and chalk is to messy too. So overall colored pencil is the cleanest and most useful thing for me. Also with colored pencils you have control of how hard or soft you want to have the color shown. I also like using prisms colors because there basically the same as color pencils but what I like about it is that you can color on top of other colors. So when you want to blend colors, it works so much better. Some benefits of using colored pencils are it being easy to work with. Like you can work almost anywhere with it and you don't need a lot of preparing to use it. You just grab some pencils and start. I feel like the final outcome of using colored pencils is so much neater.
